Buddy the Elf: "THEN, we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookie-dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle, and then..."

...we'll eat TWO types of cupcakes!
I made some cupcakes for a game night we went to tonight! The first ones were vanilla with vanilla icing and I made a stripe through the icing with red food coloring(it wasn't peppermint flavored icing-just looked like it. BUT-I did put crushed peppermint pieces on the tops:)
This one is my fav! I named him Melvin!
...this one's not Melvin
...still not Melvin
Just chillin. Melvin is front left. That's one handsome cupcake! :)
I made some Devil's Food Chocolate ones too with whipped chocolate frosting and I put mint Milano cookies on them to adorn.
They were pretty decedent, and I liked their gold wrappers-they seemed to compliment the silver ones from the vanilla cupcakes. ...I didn't name any of them...they're no Melvins...
Also- The winner of my Gourmet 'Cupcake Cookie' Giveaway with Amanda of 'Cupcakes and Corsets' will be announced tomorrow. If you entered, you MAY have an e-mail from me tomorrow letting you know you've found the golden ticket! I'm going to post the winner, so you'll see who wins no matter what! Good Luck to everybody who entered! This is very exciting-Tomorrow promises to be a sugary day! Jasmine and I are both in a twitter over it! :)

"Yeah, I know Lonely...She's a jerk."

I've heard many people say to "write what you know", but I don't think you HAVE to write what you know-you can research the heck out of something and find the magic that will allow you to put your reader into the situation-BUT-If you DO write what you know, there is much less research necessary, and you have a hold on every sense(as in sound, smell, etc...) available. When I was young, my family moved and I was excited about meeting new people, but as the day to go to the new school drew closer, I began to almost lose control of my nerves, and I visibly shook the day I was enrolled. I remember the smell of cafeteria rolls and the stares of the class I was lead into. Nobody knew me, and I was too nervous to speak. The fear and sadness grew out into my entire world, and lasted months. It was a horrible experience for me, and it still pricks me now. But- Because I felt my way through that experience, I know what words sound like through chattering teeth, and how long you have to wait in a bathroom stall before the red leaves your face from crying.
In every painful moment, writers are given a thousand free words.

Fact:

All Vietnam veterans share two things in common.
One: A fierce love of Creedence Clearwater Revival
Two: A universal hatred of all music made post 1976
Sorry I'm not fully back yet-I will be ASAP! In the meantime, thank you for checking here each day-means a WHOLE lot to me! :)

"MOST of what I do has a grounding in education." -Mr. G

kittle Warning: Language

Yes-I have been gone...and I've missed you! I bought volleyballs, drew all of your faces on them with blood, and spoke to them like you could hear me...you never know...volleyballs look to me like they......know things.....:)
I'm working on a post for later today, so check back for my "Penny Update"(No-The things I've been dealing with are not book related. If they were, you would have known already. If I ever do get published, I'll probably be so distracted by my need to shout it to anyone on the streets-including pigeons- that I'll accidently drive thru the wall of a Starbucks....Then, on the 6 o'clock news-you'll see me-in jail-jumping up and down and telling the cameras that "I HAVE LIFTOFF!...:)
I the meantime, Check out Mr. G from 'Summer Heights High'! Put aside the anger, disdain towards ur job, and lack of a publishing contract today-don't let it stop you from being happy! Mr. G makes it all better! Step into his Drama classroom, and just chill out with bean bags, pillows - that sort of thing...

Nervous!!

I'm feeling very nervous today. Good stuff is happening-not bad stuff.
I REALLY need to be asleep right now, but I can't simmer down.
Jasmine is NOT nervous....and it's NOT fair!

I love my BFF!

Seriously-I'm lucky in that area and I don't take it for granted. My BFF Kaylynn is THE TOPS!
This video depicts the two of us!

She gives jobs, relationships, and family ALL that she has inside. She's feeling pretty low today, and I hate to see that.
She deserves only the finest Swiss chocolate.

"What are we going to do this month, Brain?!" "Try to take over the WORLD!"

Day 1
I'm participating in NaNoWriMo!
What's that you ask?!
From their site:
"National Novel Writing Month
is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.
In 2008, we had over 119,000 participants. More than 21,000 of them crossed the 50k finish line by the midnight deadline, entering into the annals of NaNoWriMo superstardom forever. They started the month as auto mechanics, out-of-work actors, and middle school English teachers. They walked away novelists."
If I succeed, I'm going to do a "how to" video blog of me making French Macaroons(well-ATTEMPTING to make!) as a celebration!

If you're participating too, please let me know so I can add you as a "writing buddy" on their official site! I'm under the name: PennyLaneCupcakes
