" ... absolutely ma-am, I would love to sign your baby ..."

"Dear Eight Pound, Six Ounce, Newborn Baby Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly, but still omnipotent. I want to thank you for letting me get a
'Kreativ Blogger' Award
from
Danyelle at 'Myth Takes'!

Danyelle is one of the writers I've gotten to know who I wish lived near me so I can have writer friends to sit and talk with. She's a soft spoken, sweet ball of puffy cotton candy whose "writing voice" bursts onto the page with power and sharp contradiction to her real life demeanor. If you are a writer and looking for someone who will encourage you as a writer as well as expose her trials and process, go read some of her posts-In moments, you are not a lone writer-you have an incredibly talented authoress to share the journey with!
Thank you SO much for choosing me, D! I'm all warm and bubbly inside! I love you!
You are sunshine and Skittles! :)
Here are the rules to the award:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.
5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they have been nominated.

Now Ya'll Know TOO Much About Me...You are now a National Security Threat!
1) This is my FAVORITE cupcake of all the ones I've seen!(It's from Pink Cake Box) My next baking adventure will be trying to make gum paste flowers like this peony!
2) I'm a little obsessed with watching videos that revel the "insides of Scientology"!
Here's Tory Magoo-She was a Scientologist for 30 years, and you should go watch her videos where she talks about what happened to her in there! It's SO interesting!
3) It makes me SO angry that I can't wear what I want at work. I really feel like all of my personality is drained out. I like wearing CRAZY awesome heals or saddle shoes with shorts and a fun sweater(like my Snoopy sweater) or a really cute vintage dress. I like fun purses too-I have a vintage 'transversion' bag I got at a resale shop in New Orleans that has sequins all over it and they make a scene with flowers, a sun, and butterflys-black bags are sad :( My life NEEDS to be in Technicolor like Katy's!!
Here's what I wore today for work. LAME!
I want to wear THIS!
And THESE!4) I hate ketchup and ALL seafood.
5) I miss Jasmine during the day. I've never been like that with a pet-I physically feel sad when I'm out, and when I get back-I go right to her and hug her cuz I think she missed me. She's a strange cat-Half tabby/half siamese. Siamese are kinda mean in my experience, so I thought she'd be that way-She's NOT! She's a "Lap Whore"-meaning she wants to sit with everyone, but is never annoying or mean about it. She fetches just like a dog, and her fur feels like very soft down feathers. She will turn the faucet on-drink-and then turn it OFF!! AND- She always smells like sweet tarts- I dunno why... Here's a VIDEO of her when she was little!

6) When I lay down at night, I bring my laptop and watch youtube videos of boring people cuz they help me fall asleep. Here's a link to one of my favs-He looks CRAZY, but his voice is like vocal NyQuil!
7) I LOVE Chelsea Handler! I watch her show, 'Chelsea Lately' every day!
And now...I nominate(Again-I don't live by rules, so I'm doing 3 noms instead of 7! ...cuz I say so! that's why! :)
1) DrollGirl - The random inner workings of a sour cherry flavored wonderwoman! Sometimes she does posts based on colors, sometimes they're about movies...or Fabio...or the debate over Rob Stewart's hotness...or way TMI nakedness...or Barbies in a vice! Lovin it, D!!! You rock my F*%$ing LIFE!!
2) Midtown Girl - Carrie Bradshaw level fashion majesty?! CHECK! Unprecedented peeps into dating life in the INCREDIBLE city of New York?! Check! Sass enough for the entire cast of 'Gossip Girl'?! Check!
MG- You are all that is Fashionably Fabulous!! :)
3) Newlyweds - If I could afford a personal chef/baker, I'd hire HER! Not only does she post pics and recipes of the INSANELY complicated recipes I could NEVER even attempt and make it look like just another Tuesday at Martha Stewart's House, she plants gardens and hatched two ADORABLE baby boys!! (Fun Fact: She's also RELATED to my BFF in real life- Kaylynn!! YAY!)

Wanna Come With?!

I feel kind of lonely today. I don't know why-tho I do think it has something to do with the fact that I don't have any other writers who live near me-OR that I've felt CONSTANTLY-for years!-that I should just go to Paris and sit at a Cafe and write...I have delusions that it's where I'll "find" myself. Preferably-that would happen at Chez Julien Cafe.
Of course, David Sedaris-famed writer and funny little lemon of a sass pants- will meet me there and we'll head over to Laduree...
...where we will test the stretch in our waist bands with macaroons...
Mille Feuille(far left-brown/white), Isaphan(pink-round with rasberries), Religieuse(purple), St. Honore(far right-lots of cream), etc...
I dunno what the pink ones are in the pic below--anybody know?! I'd PAY to know! Couldn't find them on the Laduree site. We'll then discuss Paris and his experience living there for the last 10 years...
Penny:"So many of us have romantic ideas about living in Paris. Does being there ever feel like a dream to you?"
David: "You know, there's a fellow named Adam Gopnik who wrote a book called Paris to the Moon. There's a section where he's talking about crossing the Pont Neuf, I think, at sunset on a winter's evening. And he talks about how the beauty of it just absolutely stops him and stops his heart. I remember when I read that it made me cry. I copied it down in my diary because it was the perfect description of that feeling and of that time of day. And Paris is so beautiful that, even after 10 years, I stop sometimes and I am just overwhelmed."

Penny: "Do you take your visiting friends out to shop in Paris?"

David: "I absolutely love to shop. I cannot think of anyone who loves it more than me. Whenever people come to Paris, my first question is "Who do you need to buy presents for?" When they say nobody, I just write them off. Even if Christmas is nine months off, I mean come on, you're going to go home, you're going to buy Christmas presents on Christmas Eve at Sears when you were in Paris nine months earlier and you didn't buy anything?"

...then off to Pierre Herme...This green guy below is a passion fruit--thing... :)

well--after I change into THIS...
...and these...
Then, We meet up with Katy Perry...
...and the three of us start a traveling variety show that features costumes covered in feathers, oboe performances, and Jasmine. I smell success!!

You Can NEVER...

Be too skinny,
Be too rich,
Go overboard on the Katy!
What's that?
*listens*
I said NEVER! ...What?!
*listens again*
You're a cottonheaded Ninnymuggins!!!

Holy Snow Cones!

I'm like 'Twilight' at the Teen Choice Awards! Raking em in! :)
Seriously tho- I'm so humbled that the incredible, Mariah Irvin at 'Constantly Risking Absurdity', gave me the 'Kreativ Blogger' Award. Writing and bringing my imagination to life is what I just adore, and I get to do that on my blog. It actually makes me a little teary eyed that someone out there may actually enjoy reading what I have to say, and thinks it's creative. I LOVE all of my friends here, and I am SO lucky to be able to connect with all of you who have similar interests as me! I only know ONE other writer who lives near me, so having writer/artistic friends here is something I won't take for granted. If this was 10 years ago, I'd probably be alone in that area :) So- Thank YOU, LOVES!! AND- THANK YOU, MARIAH!! HUGS!!!

Here are the rules:

7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs.

-The Seven Things About ME-
1) I've always wanted black hair. When I was young, I wanted to look like Winnie Cooper from the Wonder Years. My fav actress is Zooey Deschanel, and my fav singer is Katy Perry. They all have black hair--I don't really know why I like it...It's a problem.

2) I've seen EVERY Food Network Cake Challenge! My favorite cake decorator is Mike McCarey of Mike's Amazing Cakes! YES! That's a CAKE!
3) My grandmother invented the biscuits at 'Popeyes Chicken and Biscuits'. She was working there when she was young, and had won a biscuit baking contest in New Orleans. At work one day, they asked her to show them her recipe. She made her biscuits, and they started making them-they actually added the "and Biscuits" part of the name because of the flaky yummies! Many people have asked her if she got royalties for the recipe-and she says "no"-They changed milk to buttermilk, and she's just proud to have her biscuits out there.

4) I punched a woman at a Best Buy once...She deserved it :)
5) I'm working on my Masters in Counseling Psychology and I will go on to get my doctorate. I can for sure say that the MOST helpful thing someone can do in any type of relationship is know their own personality and the personalities of those around them. Know that, and you can understand many reactions and motivations. You can find out your personality HERE!
6) I want to learn to play guitar and I want to take dance classes-Do they give beginners dance classes to adults?!
7) I love vintage and flirty clothes, and feel that what I wear is an extension of my personality. When I wear "work clothes", I often feel like I'm pale, washed out, and sad. When I wear something I love, I light up! :)
Awards Go To
(Like Mariah-I'm not doing 7-That's too many! I ONLY give awards when I'd give someone the award without first receiving it myself, SO- If you get any award from me, I've thought about it and you REALLY deserve it!:)

Jonas Wunderman at 'Beyond Wonderman' - The guy can WRITE!! His work is amazing-I've taken to calling it "Word Candy"! Some of his posts are short stories in their own right, and others are tales of life in VIVID description-Go to him if you want to see a mastery of the written word! For REALS!

Green Girl In Wisconsin - Her blog is everything that's gorgeous about nature. She lives on some beautiful land, and many of her posts are inspired by nature or are born out of the life she lives on it! She's just so full of...sunshine! I feel like I'm opening a door into a summer day when I open her blog-It makes me want lemonade.

Lightning In a Bottle - Whenever I read her blog, I wish I lived near her so I could go where she does. Her escapades and querkiness suck me in every time! The pics on her blog are incredible, AND she's a rare find in the blog world-The kind of person who has a wickedly fun sense of humor-if you were meeting in elementary school, you'd be sure to share your fruit roll up with her! LUVS ya, L!!

If you haven't visited these 3 blogs, buy your ticket-and hop on board, cuz you're in for a better ride than the tea cups at Disney World! :)

"Don't care how, I want it now!" - Veruca Salt

Well-The inevitable has happened!
I've won an award! Cake for everybody!!
It's the Superior Scribbler Award which celebrates writing talent.
Now, I know what you're thinking- "Penny! We didn't need for you to get an award to know you're an out of this world awesome writer!" I know!!!BUT- Debra-at 'Writing It Out'. has deemed it necessary to project my awesomeness to the masses :)
The only way this award could inflate my head up more would be if it came with a complimentary pair of Katy Perry Heart Shaped Shades.
OOPS! Wait! I already have some of those!
I have to thank my cat, Jasmine Macaroon, for inspiring me with cuteness,
Candy and cupcakes for fueling my writing and blogging,
and Katy Perry for producing the soundtrack to my stories and blogging adventures!
I'm pretty sure that Debra would thank Katy too since our mutual love for the flamboyant singer is unabashed and a little...over the line :)
I like to think of me and Debra as these two-
...no....maybe these two...
Well...I think we'd fight over who gets to be the lady on the left,
so these two seem more appropriate :)
Win-Win!
Debra-YOU caught me up with ur love of KP, fabulously addictive tib bits of your life as a mystery writer, and your taste in music that seems to be the same flavor as mine...the AWESOME Flavor!!)-Those things are rare-and I'm so glad we are like pen pals through our blogginess :) ((OOH!! And- I saw THIS on Katy Perry's Twitter yesterday!!!:
"headed to V festival here in the UK... It's purty out, gonna b a GREAT show. Gonna watch bands, put on my penny lane... It's been a while."
Who knew she loved my blog name!! :)

Now I gotta follow the award rules:
  1. Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass The Award on to 5 most-deserving Bloggy Friends.
  2. Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author & the name of the blog from whom he/she has received The Award.
  3. Each Superior Scribbler must display The Award on his/her blog, and link to this post, which explains The Award.
  4. Each Blogger who wins The Superior Scribbler Award must visit this post and add his/her name to the Mr. Linky List. That way, we’ll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives This Prestigious Honor!
  5. Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog.
Here are my Penny Lane Super Scribbler recipients:

1) Mariah Irvin of 'Constantly Risking Absurdity' - One of the few other people I've known to be as random as me(in a very good way:)-AND she's got links on her blog to excerpts of her amazing writing(think mind reading and total destruction :) AND a book trailer that I find as kewl as a stack of cupcakes!

2) Ali Dubrow of 'The Way I See It'- Cuz the girl can keep me engaged in stories! Really! She wrote this one post about a car accident and it felt like a perfect short story told by a sassy first person narrator! :) AND- She lists The Beatles, Katy Perry, Fiona Apple, and (old school) Britney on her music likes. F*^$ing LOVE that! :)

3) Danyelle Leafty of 'Myth-Takes' - Chick NOT only writes incredible and magical stories that make me want a unicorn, but also discusses her characters - AND tackles problems writers face with their process of creation. I've learned more from her posts and the comments left by other writers than I did in my 4 years of writing seminars in college! AND- The girl is a hell of an artist too! BAM!!

4) Lois Moss of 'Lotus Rising' - Pretty much ALL of my "Need to Read" list came from her-She even adds ratings and a "cleanliness score"! She's also incredibly likable thanks to her sharing her personal writing struggles and steps forward. She really makes me feel...not so alone. She's a poet too-which is the icing on the cupcake for me! :)

5) T. Anne of 'White Platonic Dreams' - She's written, queried, and breathed in the publishing business-- Very few writers share the valuable info she does! She's a rare porthole into the mind of a writer-and you'll want to stay! :)

Now chicks-Go forth and multiply!
