Christmas Ornament Cupcakes by Penny

I made these last night for a Christmas Party.
I recorded each step on video, and will be uploading it as a tutorial to Youtube and putting it on my blog as soon as I finish editing. I'm going to include the recipes and supplies I used as well. The cake is a simple white cake and I made Vanilla Meringue Buttercream Icing. The ornaments are Lindt Chocolate Truffles dipped in white chocolate and decorated. I used gum paste for the hook holders.
"We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup." -Elf
I also made these "snowballs"- which were basically crumbled cake mixed with icing that was rolled into a ball, frozen, and then covered with white chocolate and then granulated sugar.
And- Son of a NUTCRACKER, they were awesome!
Merry Christmas to all! :)

I am in absolute awe. Wow. You have to come visit me, please, please, please!!! :-)
Seriously, those are too beautiful to eat. But of course I would. I mean, c'mon, pass up a truffle? NO way. LOL

Hope you had fun!

Are you giving these as presents? Beautiful and tasty at the same time.

Jess- I think that there should be a convention for writers who blog one day. I think it would be a great thing! And- I would bring the cupcakes! :)
U should try making the cupcake pops! I made them inspired by the 'Bakarella' cupcake pops-If u google that, it's a pretty amazing hostess gift and SUPER easy. And- Singe I made them into snowballs, I didn't have to do any other decoration other than rolling them in sugar. :)

Gutsy- Thanks Darlin! THey weren't presents. My boyfriend teaches and they were having a holiday teacher party, so I made them for him to bring to the party. He always has new events for school that I can make something original for. The pops would make a great gift tho! The chocolate on the outisde hardens, so they're pretty sturdy...but I wouldn't want to ship them if they'd get warm in transit and melt. :)

You are beyond talented, my friend. I'm not sure if I could live on cupcakes alone, but I'd sure like to give it a try!

And thanks for b-day vid! I LOVED it!!
