David Sedaris will change your LIFE!
— David Sedaris
"After a few months in my parents' basement, I took an apartment near the state university, where I discovered both crystal methamphetamine and conceptual art. Either one of these things are dangerous, but in combination they have the potential to destroy entire civilizations. "
— David Sedaris
"Hugh and I have been together for so long that in order to arouse extraordinary passion, we need to engage in physical combat. Once, he hit me on the back of the head with a broken wineglass, and I fell to the floor pretending to be unconscious. That was romantic, or would have been had he rushed to my side rather than stepping over my body to fetch the dustpan."
— David Sedaris (Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim)
"Writing gives you the illusion of control, and then you realize it's just an illusion, that people are going to bring their own stuff into it."
— David Sedaris
"Real love amounts to withholding the truth, even when you're offered the perfect opportunity to hurt someone's feelings"
— David Sedaris (Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim)
Am I the first writer he's penned this message to?!
Probably not.
Am I gonna tie him down to a bench that's bolted to the floor and force him to read my book one day?!
Absolutely.

I think he will read your book one day and say "I knew her when".
I absolutely love Sedaris! He's one of my favourite authors. I was lucky enough to meet him as well, he's a sweetheart!
lotusgirl, Mark Haddon wrote "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time" not Sedaris.
Awesome! I'd never heard of him before, but now I want to read him. Thanks for introducing him!
Love him! Love that you have a post all about him and his awesomeness. You Rock!
My girlfriend constantly reminds me that she got to talk to David Sedaris one time for 20 minutes at the end of a book signing. She said he was super nice in person too.
I love David Sedaris. How cool you went to one of his signings - I would love to do that one day or go to one of his readings.
