I have nothing but respect for someone who proclaims herself an artist/writer/poet etc. Art in any area is never about public recognition and it is always about the personal strength and commitment to yourself and the inner truth you proclaim. Selling paintings and getting books published may get you fame and fortune, but honoring yourself is the most important step. I hope you post some of your writing - I know it's scary, but it is also wonderfully liberating. Good luck, Bob
