back from New Orleans trip

Mom and I stopped at 'Oak Alley Plantation'. The oaks are over 200 years old, and it's rumored to be haunted. There is an old creole belief that all mirrors in a house must be shrouded in black veils for a year after someone dies so the deceased doesn't become stuck in the mirrors forever.
St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter. We went to mass there and sat on the steps outside listening to an amazing street musician. I regret not getting a CD now.
A statue of Jesus behind the cathedral. During Hurricane Katrina, he only lost one finger.
We walked down Royal Street early in the mornings to get to Cafe Du Monde from our Hotel. Day break is a magical time.
French Macaroons, White Hot Chocolate(with lavender), and a raspberry jam filled cupcake at 'Sucre' Bakery on Magazine Street.
